Chiron Salutes the Heroes

April 6th, 2020

We saw this sign outside one of our local healthcare facilities (Encompass Health Rehab Hospital) and we couldn’t agree more.

Chiron salutes the doctors and nurses, medical technicians and first responders, medical facilities’ support personnel and volunteers and of course mental health providers who are serving our communities across Northern Virginia and around the country during these unprecedented times. Thank you for your tireless compassionate work to care for those who are sick, those who are in physical pain and those struggling emotionally (anxiety, depression, etc.). You are truly heroes!!!

Chiron also salutes the husbands and wives, moms and dads, girlfriends and boyfriends, siblings and children of these heroes. Thank you for sacrificing your time so your loved ones can in turn selflessly serve and save the lives of others. While our medical personnel are certainly the heroes, you the families whom support them behind closed doors are the unsung heroes in this fight.

On behalf of our families, we thank you and we salute your efforts. Perhaps maybe even today is the day South Riding and Stone Ridge joins with those in Spain, Italy, Israel and other places around the country at 8 p.m. when people are opening their windows / going on the balconies to clap and cheer or simply taking a grateful moment of silence to salute you. #SOLIDARITYAT8

Stay safe … stay strong … and remember love, kindness, empathy, grace wins every time!!! HOPE is rising!! We will get through this together as a community, as a county and as a country.

Will you join in the movement at 8? Do you know a social worker, mental health provider, doctor, nurse, first responder, volunteer who is doing incredible work right now that you want to shout out? Let us know … we are here, we are listening and we want to celebrate with you.
